University Institutional Repositories: Copyright and Long Term Preservation

Project Description

Institutional Repositories have been developed by universities in North America and Western Europe to provide access to products of scholarship and preserving them over the long term. However, a recent census shows that 70.8% of institutional repositories in the United States do not have a policy for licensing content. Moreover, issues of preservation and maintaining authenticity through time have not been discussed in the literature. This project will address those issues in relation to copyright law.
